The businesses served by the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce require a workforce and consumer base that is well-educated and trained in collaboration, critical thinking and job specific skills. The workforce must also have skills to comprehend and adjust to an ever-changing work and world environment. That workforce can only be produced by an educational system that is modern, relevant, rigorous, fiscally prudent, and accountable to the public, including the business community.
Accordingly, the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce will engage and work with educational providers and officials at all levels of government to provide Pre K-12, non-technical and technical secondary and post-secondary education that is modern, relevant, rigorous, fiscally prudent, and accountable and effectively produces this required workforce.
The school systems in the local community and the State of Minnesota need to be the driving force to implement effective and equal learning opportunities to all members of the region. Business and government needs to be active partners in developing educational programs.
School systems, government and business need to actively analyze current policies and methods to make sure the end result of the learning process is a properly trained and productive workforce and consumer base. New policies and methods are ever evolving and should be implemented if they are shown to have better results.
