The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce provides guaranteed business-class results to its members in these areas:

 

Collaboration: Creating powerful business connections that feed businesses bottom line.  Members of the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce harness the power of business—coupling it with peers, community and government—to create a dynamic marketplace focused on growth, excellence and guaranteed results.

Clout: Propelling your business interests above the noise.  Today and since the late 1950s, the Chamber stands as the voice of business on mission critical issues effecting the health and vibrancy of the business community.

Creativity: Leveraging leading-edge services that drive your success both today and tomorrow.  With over 15 monthly events and dozens of other unique programs focused on business innovation and success, the Chamber provides a vital component of the northern Twin Cities area economic infrastructure.

In specific, the Chamber works with members to provide these opportunities:

 

Marketing

 

The Chamber provides effective marketing opportunities that members typically do not have the time or resources to accomplish independently including:

§         Active involvement with the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce creates the opportunity to build awareness about your organization and services.

§         A Membership Directory and Buyers Guide containing all members' contact names, phone/fax numbers, addresses and websites is published every year with a circulation of 5,000.

§         A Community Magazine is printed every other year to highlight the strength and amenities of the northern Twin Cities area.  The magazine, supported by cost-effective member advertising, includes community and business information as well as a full listing of the areas leading member organizations.

§         A Northern Suburbs Community Map is features a detailed street map of the area as well as a metro-wide map.  It also includes advertising space that is available to members only.

§         A New Member Spotlight is written in every newsletter giving members additional business exposure.

§         The Chamber’s website at www.twincitiesnorth.org provides searchable information on members organizations including a no-cost link to each member site.

§         Mailing labels are available for purchase for direct mail needs.

§         A membership identifier lets visitors know your organization is involved in the Chamber and cares about the health of the community. Many members look to do business with other Chamber members first.

§         The Chamber provides a monthly direct mail opportunity, within or monthly Results Newsletter.

§         Ribbon cuttings are conducted for new members, grand openings, changes in ownerships or anniversary celebrations, giving you additional advertising in our newsletter and bringing other business people through your door.

§         Chamber business expos are held twice a year allowing members exclusive access to the local marketplace.

§         Sponsorships for a variety of events can utilized to showcase your business:

 

Professional Development

 

Through the Chamber, small and mid-sized businesses have access to services and products typically available to large corporations, including:  

  • Monthly luncheons featuring keynote business speakers.
  • Workforce development programs.
  • Human resource and technology seminars.
  • Business expansion assistance.
  • Leadership and public speaking skill development.
  • Access to the knowledge and experiences of fellow members.

 

Legislative Impact

 

Increased legislative influence is counted as another key benefit of membership.  Members work together to impact decisions made by the cities, counties, school districts and the State Legislature resulting in a unified voice on issues shaping today’s business environment, including:

  • Direct contact with your local, state and federal legislators.
  • A Public Affairs Committee tackles the tough local, state and federal issues. This group researches the issues and recommends policy to the Board of Directors.
  • Business Day at the Capitol is an event open to all chamber members. This day at the Capitol—through our strong partnership with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce—allows business people the opportunity to express their concerns to their legislators.
  • Legislative and candidate forums are offered to chamber members. Whether we are in the midst of an election year, or during the normal session, we have many forums to update our members on the issues that specifically pertain to business.
  • Participation in the Metropolitan Coalition of Chambers—an active group of chamber members from throughout the Metro area—addresses issues that affect all businesses in the Twin Cities metro area. Membership with Twin Cities North Chamber allows you the access to this information.

 

Networking Opportunities

 

  • The Chamber provides excellent, focused networking opportunities.  By increasing the contact and awareness among peers, members develop strong relationships within local business communities, ultimately benefiting their bottom line.  
  • A major priority of the Twin Cities North Chamber is to promote local business, and we do this through a variety of networking events.
  • Monthly Luncheons allow you the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business to all members at the luncheon. You are also given the opportunity to distribute marketing material as well.
  • Breakfast Networking Group meets twice a month. This leads generating group actively promotes other business people that are part of that group to find new clients and new business.
  • Referrals are given constantly by the chamber staff and we only refer current chamber members.
  • Golf Tournaments and Annual Gala are events that are designed for networking. All of these events allow you the opportunity to network with hundreds of other chamber members.
  • The Chamber’s north yp network, or young professionals group, provides great networking with early stage career individuals.
